Complete Sentences. Every sentences as a central verb , whether it is one or more words. That verb is called the simple predicate ! A verb is an action word.

Every sentences as a centralverb, whether it is oneor more words. • That verb is called the simplepredicate! • A verb is an action word. • Every sentence also has a nounor pronounthat the sentence is mostly about. It’s the noun or pronoun that does the action in the sentence –or gets linkedto something else. • That noun or pronoun is called the simplesubject! • A noun is a person, place, or thing. • A pronoun replaces a noun with words like: he, she, it, they, we

  4. Subjects and Predicates • Subjects and Predicates are partsof a sentence. • You must always have a subject and predicate in a sentences to make it complete.

  5. Subject Definition: the part of a sentence stating the person or thing being discussed. Drawing: • Examples: • A dog • A girl • A tree • Non-Example: • Wagged • Swimming • Swayed
