Involves a broad range of general education requirements, including 36 credits of communications, mathematics, humanities, natural science, and social science requirements, and 24 elective credits for a total of 60 credit hours. • Equivalent to the first 2 years of study at the University level (Freshman and Sophomore levels). • Earn your AA Degree at FKCC and transfer to any of the 12 Public Universities more than 25 Independent Colleges and Universities! *(except limited access programs)* • 30-hour advising: The Florida College System Associate in Arts students are required to identify the bachelor’s degree program and college/university of interest by the time they earn 30 hours. Once a student identifies the program and institution of interest, the Florida college will let the student know about the common prerequisite requirements.   21. Developmental Math courses have ditched the “chalk and talk” for a new and improved way of teaching- Island TIME: Transition Into Math Excellence. Students will benefit from a personalized learning experience that combines face-to-face instruction with easy-to-use technology. The goals of FKCC’s new program are to ensure students successfully complete developmental math courses, and are then prepared and confident for the next step toward a bright future. Student Centered Technology- Assisted Tutoring Services Student Success Center Island TIME courses will take place in the new, state-of-the-art Student Success Center. Students will attend class in one portion of the Student Success Center, and then complete coursework in the adjoining computer lab. The Student Success Center is located in TWFAC 2402 and 2403, above the Ceramics lab. Just follow the green arrows. Island TIME: Transition Into Math Excellence

First determine your developmental course needs (use your highest scores from any/all tests taken within 2 years). • Completion of all developmental needs prior to earning 12 college level credit hours is required. Meaning that all students who place in prep courses will need to take them within their first semester. • Only three attempts permitted for any course (withdrawals count). Third attempts at courses charge full cost at Out-of State rates ($438.73 per credit). • Contact your Academic Advisor or Program Advisor at least once per semester. • Understand your limits with course loads: Part-time ≤ 11 credits Full-time ≥ 12 credits • Remember to allow 1-2 hours of study time for each credit hour. • Always print your class schedule to confirm assigned classroom before first day of classes. • Attend ALL classes Scheduling Considerations

Reading your Class schedule: M= Monday T= Tuesday W= Wednesday R=Thursday F= Friday S= Saturday U= Sunday FKCC Terminology Accredited: Accredited refers to recognition of an education institution by an official agency or professional associate as maintaining certain quality standards. Co-requisite: A course required to be taken at the same time as another course. Enhanced Courses: When a course used the college online Learning Management System but continues to meet in the traditional face-to-face format. The class uses online resources to add to student engagement in the course. Fees: Refers to an amount charged by universities or colleges, in addition to tuition to cover costs of institutional services. Grade Point Average (GPA): The grade point average refers to the average of all grades earned by a student. Plagiarism: Plagiarism is the use of another person’s words or ideas and passing them off as your own. Prerequisite: Refers to a course or courses that must be successfully completed before a student can enroll in the next level course or more advanced course. Syllabus: A course outline typically distributed the first day of class detailing course expectations, instructor information, and the instructors and colleges policies on grading, attendance, class requirements, etc. Transcript: A transcript is a complete record of academic work completed by a student.
