General Rules • Dress 1 or 2 levels up • This isn’t 1999 • Be yourself…but not too much yourself • It’s ok to ask what to wear • All accessories must been in very good condition • “Informal” isn’t really
No-Nos • Wild nails (color or length) • Short Skirts: NO MORE THAN 3” ABOVE KNEE; no capris or leggings • Leather Jackets • Showy briefcases, purses, shoes, etc • Heavy makeup • Strong perfume…or any, really
Suits • Wear dresses with caution… • Dark, but different, color with a neutral top • NO CLEAVAGE • No Dated Suits: Lapels >3” or <1” • Skirt suit considered more formal than a pant suit
Shoes • No Open-Toed or Backless Shoes • Recommended: no more than 2 ½” heel • Keep them looking nice! • No scuffs marks, old soles, dull leather
Accessories • No distracting accessories • Ok to wear modern takes on classic pieces • Invest in a good quality, plain trench in case of rain • WEAR HOSE
Blue • Always a good choice, especially navy. • Shows calm, stability, trust, truth, confidence, security
Gray • Second most popular color • Shows sophistication
Black • Commanding and authoritarian • Can show drama • Consider using as an accent only
Red • Extremely powerful color • Use with caution! • Associated with energy, passion, desire, power, and aggression
White • Always safe when worn as a shirt or blouse • Shows simplicity, cleanliness, precision, and goodness
