Family • C.S.Lewis was born in Belfast, Ireland and the 29th of November 1898 to a mother named Florence Augusta Lewis and a father named Albert James Lewis of whom he lived with along with his older brother Warren Hamilton Lewis and his dog Jacksie who unfortunately was run over when he was 4 .

  3. World War 1 • In 1917, C.S.Lewis left his home to join the British army. During a harsh period in the war Lewis was promoted to and officer of the 3rd battalion. On the 15th of April 1918 he was injured by a English shell the had dropped of target he was discharged in 1918 and soon returned to his studies. He received a First in honour moderations in 1920.

  4. Personal Qualities • C.S.Lewis was obviously a very Christian man including Christian themes in his books such as sin, redemption and humanity's fall from grace. • He was a generous man and often donated money to the poor

  5. Why he wrote Narnia ? • When C.S.Lewis was a child he adored reading books by Beatrix Potter and when he started writing the ‘Narnia’ series he wanted spiritual books that would appeal to children just like Beatrix Potter’s books appealed to him.

  6. Interesting facts • Did you know … C.S.Lewis used to meet up with a group of authors they shared beer and called themselves the ‘Inklings’ • Did you know… that C.S.Lewis was called "Smallpigiebotham“ on his demand
