  2. School Clinic • Located on the 5th floor of Ilugin Elementary School • Headed by Ms. Dadison • School Clinic Manual serves as guide • Manned by appointed teacher-clinicians • Services: • First-aid treatment • Referral to other health institutions for more complicated cases (e.g. PCGH)

  3. Common Health Problems • Fever • Respiratory infections (e.g. cough, colds) • Malnutrition (especially undernutrition) • Basic hygiene and sanitation practices (e.g. dirty nails, lice, dental carries)

Nutrition Program • Ms. Malou Jimenez – school nutritionist • Feeding program • For severely malnourished children • Thrice a week • From the school canteen • Target population: Kinder, grade 5 and grade 6 students • Monitoring every 1 to 2 months • Outcomes: no exact statistics; “some” have improved

  6. Chibog Pampalusog Program • Pasig City local government • 60-day program • To be launched on the 2nd week of September • Target population: severely malnourished students from grades 1 to 4 (412 students) • Monitoring and weighing after the program • Provision of the following: • Mondays & Fridays: rice and viands • Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays: snacks

  9. Recommendations • Monitoring system for nutrition program • Consider other factors (e.g. parasitism, livelihood programs, etc.) • Gathering of statistics regularly for the school-wide feeding program • Referral system with Ilugin Community Center
