Why the “Employment Crawl” Our proposal will • Break down myths and obstacles • Provide students with an opportunity to build relationships and develop a sense of community in Hamilton • Give students the chance to network with hiring managers and visit places of employment • Highlight what Hamilton has to offer, in areas of entertainment, cultural diversity, youth networking groups (ie: Hamilton Hive) • Continue to promote entrepreneurship as a career of choice • Introduce employers to the talent of our graduates • Promote the innovation and research partnerships Known Facts McMaster’s students perception of Hamilton is that it is a “ Steel City” with nothing to offer to young professionals Both the City and the community want to attract, retain, and engage young professionals to the city.
