Suggestion #1 DON’T BE BORING!! Nobody likes to listen to a presentation if the people presenting aren’t at least somewhat interested in what they are talking about..
Suggestion #2 BE PREPARED Every group member should know what part to talk about. Cost Person: Talk about the process to figure out the cost (keep it short) Builders: Talk about problems you faced, ideas you had that didn’t work, etc...
Suggestion #3 COMMERCIAL SHOULD BE READY TO GO Don’t wait until Monday during class to make sure your video works. Either send it to me over the weekend or bring a flash drive with the file on it. (Make sure it is exported as a movie file: mp4, mpeg, wmv, avi, mov, etc…
Suggestion #4 TRI-FOLD SHOULD BE TOTALLY FINISHED Make sure you have nothing to finish on Monday morning. You have all weekend to put the finishing touches on your tri-fold. You can leave it in my room Monday morning before school.
Suggestion #5 APPROACH THIS AS A SALES PITCH Remember that you are trying to “sell” your ride to potential amusement park buyers (me, other teachers present, parents) Your presentation should be well-prepared and to the point
Suggestion #6 HAVE FUN WITH IT Many of you have put a lot of hard work into this. Use the 5 or 6 minutes of presenting to show off what you have done.
FORMAT • Introduce yourselves • Talk about what ride you chose and some of your original ideas for how you wanted to build it and make it move on its own • Talk about challenges you ran into (it didn’t work, didn’t agree with each other on what to do, didn’t know what material to use, etc…) • Show your ride moving • Show your commercial • Each group member briefly talk about the role you played • Thank the audience and open it up for questions
