The Respiratory System- How it Works.
How does it Function? The Respiratory System in itself is mainly just like how being on a swing-set would be. One action is performed which in turn makes another action, and it keeps doing that on and on until the process is stopped. When we breathe, Oxygen is enhaledand Carbon Dioxide is Exhaled, which helps get oxygen to the blood. Then after passing through different parts of the body,it eventually makes it to the lungs. Once in the lungs, the Diaphragm will release carbon dioxide, and the process keeps repeating and repeating over and over.
How complex is it? If anything, the Respiratory system is the easiest of the bunch to remember. It is pretty simple without diving deep into details on it, and really it only has two main organs in it,as oppose to other systems. Really it isn’t complex,it’s just a back and forth cycle that will always do its job.
How important is it? Well I’m sure you know that without the Respiratory system you would probably die. But to dive into details, it is the only source of breathing. Without it you would have no way of exhaling or inhaling anything. Now the Respiratory System is forgiving in a way by letting you hold your breath, but you can only do that for so long before you have to release. And if you can’t release, you will eventually choke and die.
What are the Organs? There are 17 organs all together in the Respiratory System. Those organs consist of: The Bronchi,Lungs,Diaphragm,Larynx,Trachea,Alveoli, Epiglottis,Nasopharynx,Oropharynx,Laryngopharynx,Alveolar Duct, Alveolar Sacs, Connective Tissue, Capillary Beds, Pulmonary Artery, and the Pulmonary Vein.
The End. So that is how the Respiratory System works and what it is.I hope you enjoyed the power point.
