Life Cycle The four stages of the Monarch Butterfly: • Egg • Caterpillar • Pupa • Adult Butterfly
Egg • Female Monarchs lay their eggs on a milkweed leaves. • When the egg hatches, it is a caterpillar
Caterpillar • The caterpillar hatches from its egg and eats it. • The caterpillar loses its old skin four times as it grows
Pupa The caterpillar turns into a pupa. By hanging on a leaf Pupa is a hard covering the caterpillar lives
