What is it? • Earth Hour is a global event organized by WWF (World wide life fund.) • Earth hour is a global event when everyone world wide turns their light off and saves a lode of money. • Earth Hour is the biggest climate awareness campaign ever!
Which countries and companies were involved • The whole world is involved in this huge campaign and especially WWF is involved in Earth Hour. • WWF wasn’t the people who started it, it was Sydney as I will tell you soon about.
When and where did it start • Earth Hour started in Sydney in 2007 when 2.2 million homes and businesses turned their lights off to save energy for a whole hour. • Sydney thought that it would be a good idea to do it once a year so that is how it started.
The money saved • Earth Hour saves hundreds of money every year from just turning you lights off for a hour! • Earth Hour is a energy saving campaign and is also a money saving campaign. • Earth hour can save and has saved this year,
Why do we need it • If we didn’t have this project every year then our bills on light and electricity. • Earth Hour is also very helpful because it saves the polar bears from extinction. (Global Warming)
The environment • Earth Hour might not be that important to some of us but that is not true. • Earth Hour is a humongous help to the environment and to the earth. • Earth Hour should be happening every month then think how much money and polar animals we would save.
