  4. People who have a lot of money do not need insurance.

  5. Renters do not need home and property insurance

  6. Automobile insurance insurance protects drivers from breaking the law

  7. If you are not working, one of the things you can do without is life insurance.

  8. There is no point to saving money for retirement since social security benefits will provide all you need to live on

  9. Insurance • Protection against financial loss • Auto • Life • Health • Homeowners and renters

  10. Premium • Cost you actually pay to be insured • Can be paid monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, or annually

  11. Deductible • Amount of a claim or service you are required to pay out of your pocket • Insurance pays the rest

  12. Insurance policy • Written contract dealing what an insurance company covers, how much it will pay, and how much you will pay

  13. Coverage limit • Maximum amount that the insurance company will pay if you file a claim

  14. Create a skit • The skit should revolve around a scenario where something bad happened and you need insurance to cover • *Use at least 3 of the vocabulary words that we just covered* • Insurance • Premium • Deductible • Insurance policy • Coverage limit

  15. Pick a partner at your table • Number a scratch sheet of paper 1-7 • Toss a coin, record if it is heads of tail • Put a H if it is heads and a T if it is tails

  16. Risk Management • Property risks • Loss or harm to personal or real property. • To protect such losses we purchase: Property Insurance

  17. Liability risks • Loss that may occur when your inappropriate actions result in injury to someone else or damage to someone else’s property. • To protect such losses we purchase: liability insurance

  18. Board activity • Come up the board and write an example of something that would fall under liability or property insurance
