AHAs • We need to discuss what each term on the TA report means • As the years progress we should be addressing new areas, rather than the same areas • Teams need 3+ years to truly internalize the process • Marking teams by benchmarks rather than years • Prevalence rates can’t be looked at in isolation-we need to determine what other things are going on
Questions • Should we revisit how teams deal with changes in membership? • At what point can we expect to see EIP begin to effect change on prevalence rate?
AHAs • Early intervention vs pre-referral is part of the philosophy • Prevalance decrease concided with EIP • Requesting assistance of individuals vs classroom or group or building-wide -instructional adjustments • Need the time for team debrief or reflection
Questions • TAs role regarding the generation of strategies-higher quality strategies without being judgmental • District-wide committee/coordinators and should we be looking at the role of the IST (general ed vs specialists) • What is the TA role in addressing disproportionality • Addressing school-family partnerships- what are we striving for and when do we focus on this (benchmarks) • What human resources do we need (title I school vs non title I)
