  10. Communities at Work • In the fall we did a “Who We Are” PYP Unit about communities. We asked questions and did research to learn that: • Communities provide support for people. • There is a need for laws and rules. • As citizens we have many rights and responsibilities. • Community workers are important people in a community. • Communities are similar and different from on another

  11. Changing Communities • In this PYP unit for “Where we are in place and time” we learned: - how communities both past and present change over time - how individuals impact history - about past, present and future

  12. We studied many topics in science this year! Properties of Matter Living Things The Earth Let me tell you about my favorite topic!  Science

  13. Earth • In this PYP unit for “How the World Works” we inquirer about: • Sources of water, it’s properties, uses and cycles • Landforms on the Earth • How landforms and bodies of water shape human activity

  14. Express Yourself! • In this PYP unit for “How we express ourselves” we explored different genres, worked on story elements and wrote for many purposes and audiences.

  15. Get Organized! • In this PYP unit we learned about needs and wants, governments, and economics. We even created our own Kid City!!

  16. Plants • In this PYP unit for “Sharing the Planet” we focused on living things, plants in particular. • We inquired into plant life cycles, plant parts and functions, the scientific method, human affect on plants and survival of living things.
