Project Overview • Key Components • Inpatient Bed Facility for approx. 150 beds (spinal cord injury, medical/surgical, intensive care and behavioral health) • Freestanding Community Living Center, Outpatient Clinics Diagnostic and Treatment Center • Research Laboratories • Renovation of existing office building for admin offices and behavioral health clinics • Central Concourse for public functions, amenities and circulation • Central Energy/ utility plant • Advanced alternative energy features and sustainable design

  7. Project Location • The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) will build a replacement hospital on the eastern edge of the University of Colorado Health and Science Campus (formerly the Fitzsimons Army Medical Center) in Aurora, Colorado.

  14. Q&A #1 Will the schedule be posted on the website? Answer: Yes, the project procurement timeline will be continually updated by the J/V

  15. Q&A #2 Will there be help with Bonding? Answer: Yes, the J/V will not assist with bonding but will help identifying bonding assistance opportunities.

  16. Q&A #3 How does subcontractor know if they are pre-qualified and able to bid the project? Answer: The J/V will notify each firm if they have successfully qualified to bid the project.

  17. Q&A #4 Will there be one subcontractor per trade for all phases of the project? Answer: No, the J/V will diligently break up the packages and scopes of work to maximize participation.

  18. Q&A #5 Will the bid package approximate sizes be posted on the website in advance to confirm with our sureties? Answer: There will be sufficient time in the bidding timeline to inform your surety of package size.

  19. Q&A #6 Is the prequal package to be printed, filled out and mailed in to the J/V? Answer: Yes, mail to 7200 S. Alton Way, Greenwood Village 80112

  20. Q&A #7 How can I confidentially disclose my company’s financials? Answer: All financial information is kept confidential, but if necessary we can arrange for face to face disclosure.

  21. Q&A #8 Do J/V’s need to prequal as a J/V? Answer: Yes, but due to the inherent questions associated with a J/V’s lack of financial or safety history each company will be evaluated on their independent qualifications.

  22. Q&A #9 How will the retainage be dealt with on the project. (How long will it be held)? Answer: The retainage will be released in accordance with the project guidelines determined by the VA.

  23. Q&A #10 If we don’t qualify for one package will be permitted to requalify for additional packages. Answer: Yes, if areas of inadequacies are addressed prior to next package issuance.

  24. Q&A #11 I’ve already prequalified with Kiewit or Turner, do I need to requalify with the J/V? Answer: Yes, you must requalify specifically for the project with the Joint Venture.
