  2. Conflicting IESA Sports • YOU WILL BE UNABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN CHEER IF YOU ARE IN THE FOLLOWING ACTIVITES • Basketball • Volleyball

  3. PHYSICALS • YOU MUST have a current physical (within a year) WITH YOU in order to participate in clinics and try- outs. • 6th Graders: you must bring a copy of the current physical to clinics WITH YOU TO CLINIC!! • 7th Graders: Make sure you have a current physical on file with Mr. Pufahl.

  4. What do I need to do at try outs? • Cheer • Tight motions • Proper placement of motions • Clean lines • Proper wrists • Together with group • Together with group on count • Jumps Good height Pointed toes Straight legs Correct placement of arms and legs Clean landings

  5. What do I need to do for try outs? • Tumbling • Standing • Standing connected to jumps • Standing multiples • Elite entries • Stunting • Half • Full (extended) • Single leg • Transitional body positions on count

How much does cheerleading cost? • Spirit Cheer • Gear • New~ TBD Last year $450 • Returning ~ TBD Last year $360 • Uniform Deposit - $150 • Activity - $20 • Camp- $175 • Tumbling $100 • Fundraising tickets - $30 each • Competition • Gear • New ~ TBD Last year $540 • Returning ~ TBD Last year $360 • Uniform deposit ~ $150 • Activity Fee~ $20 • Camp ~ $175 • Choreography ~ $190 • Tumbling ~$100 • Fundraising Tickets - $30 each (2) • State Hotel Room –TBD

  8. Summer: Mondays and Wednesdays 8-10 am ( also clinics dates) School year: Practices will vary depending on the availability of the gym. Practice will either be 2:30-4 or 4:30-6:30 time added as needed **** ALL PRACTICES AND GAMES ARE MANDATORY!!!!!You are only excused if you were absent from school that day OR Religious Education classes and I will need to know that schedule in advance. When do we practice?

  9. Dates to remember • Summer camps • Tuesday July 2nd at SHJH from 7:30-2:30 • Wednesday July 10th at SHJH from 2:30-5:30pm • Choreography = Competition Only • Monday August 5th and Tuesday August 6th -MANDATORY!!!!! Time: 7:30-4:30 at Summit Hill Jr. High

  10. Practice calendars and Competitions • Practice schedules will change due to gym availability • Schedules will go out 2 months in advance • We are looking at 3-4 competitions around Dec-January • Once they are booked you will know

  11. ~ IESA Code of Conduct ~A,B and C’s on report card~Respect yourself and others ~ Attend ALL practices on time ~ Support your teammates ~ Show sportsmanship both inside and out of the school ~ Communicate with your coach in a timely manner ~ Show school spirit throughout the entire school year Expectation for all Cheerleaders
