They will engage in group activities and discussions to deepen their understanding. Homework assignments include reflecting on the importance of education and summarizing a Prezi presentation on the history of education.

  1. English 11 Agenda: 1/6/15 Objective: W.11.10, S.11.1 Students will determine their own educational values and discuss their viewpoints with others. Homework – Pair/Share Famous Quotes Discussion Quickwrites Prezi –take Notes Homework: Make sure your username and password is working before tomorrow!

  2. Homework • Your Homework was: • Ask someone who does not go to Wasco High: “How would you feel if you were not allowed an education?” • ON THE SAME PAPER: • Who did you ask? What did they say? • Do you agree with this person? Why or why not? • Share your answers with your partner.

  3. Famous Quotes: • There are 4 quotes posted on the walls. • Read and choose the quote you agree with. (only 1) • Write why you agree with the quote on your sticky-note. • Go to the quote you agree with and post your sticky-note on the paper. • Stay there and discuss your answers with others.

  4. Which do you agree with most? Why?Write your reason on your sticky-note. “Knowledge is power.” “Ignorance is bliss.” “Self-education is the only kind of education there is.” “Education is the movement from darkness to light.”
