  2. What is inside your computer? Each computer is made up of parts that play an important role in how it functions every time it is turned on.

  3. Central Processing Unit (CPU) • Considered the Brains of a computer

  4. Hard Disk Drive • The Stomach • Can store large amounts of data

  5. Random Access Memory (RAM) • The Pulse • Where instructions and data are stored on a temporary basis

  6. Power Supply • The Heart • Supplies computer with electrical energy

  7. Motherboard • The Spine • A circuit board inside the computer case that contains all computer system’s main components

  8. Computer Case • The Shell • Holds all the different parts of a computer

  9. Graphics Card • The Brawn (the muscle) • Can speed up many tasks like photos or compressing videos. Very good for gaming.

  10. Optical Drive • The Appendix • Used to burn discs, watch dvds or blu rays

  11. CPU Cooler (Fan) • The Lungs • Keeps CPU from overheating
