DTXPress interface • There are 4 volume knobs to the left of the LCD display • The “AUX IN VOL” knob adjusts the volume of the CD or Cassette player connected to the “AUX IN” jack • The “CLICK VOL” knob adjusts the volume of the metronomes click. When holding the shift button (located to the right of the LCD display), this controls the volume of the Kick drum • The “POWER/VOL” knob controls the master volume and when pushed turns the DTXPress on or off. • The “ACCOMP VOL” knob controls the volume of the accompanying song that is being played. When holding the shift button, this controls the volume of the snare drum
DTXPress interface cont. • To the right of the LCD interface are 15 buttons to alter the things that the drum machine can do • “PLAY”- enters the DTXPress’ drum kit play mode to play preset songs as well as user made songs • “TRIG”- enters the Trigger set up mode • “VOICE”- enters the Drum Kit Voice edit mode (change the voices of each pad when hit). Double-click to display the “Volume, pan” page of the voice edit mode • “SONG”- enters the Song Job Mode • “START/S”- starts/stops playback or recording of songs • “SAVE/ENT”- carries out (enter) the command or save operation • “SHIFT”- holding this and another button activates its secondary function
Cycling through Kits • The LCD screen givesyou two numbers • 1 being the kit number and the other being the song number • To cycle through Kits, firstyou use the select buttonsto highlight the Kit number (it is highlighted once blinking) • Next you use the value buttons to find the desired Kit • To the right of the Kit number will be the name of that kit you are using
Cycling through songs • The LCD screen shows you what song you are currently on to the rightofthe song number • Once highlighted, use the value buttons to cycle through songs to play along with (like you do to change the Kit)
Playing with a song • The ability to play along with music that has a steady beat requires the drummer or percussionist to keep a steady tempoandtime • To achieve this, you should practice with a metronome first by pushing the “CLICK” button to activate theDXPress’ metronome • Simplypressthe “PLAY” button to start the accompanying music to play along with • Adjust the volume of the song with the “ACCOMP VOL” knob
