Installation of micromegas in ATLAS Status report
MBT0 • New chamber being built • Lower resistivity along strips (10–20 MΩ/cm) • Fix of some HV connection problems • New drift electrode (FR4, non-transparent) • Better gas tightness • Chamber expected to be ready end of this week
MMSW • Four planes with two readout coordinates each • All materials were finally last Wednesday at CERN • PCBs were baked and measured; good results • By Friday the Kapton layer was laminated onto the PCBs • This week the resistive strips will be applied • Beginning of next the bulk (mesh) will deposited • Chambers are expected to be ready end of next week • Plan: test chambers with cosmics in the lab for one or two days
MMSW measurement results Scatter of position of strip ends Strip # x y x y 6 5 4 1 2 3 Relative distances between targets for the five PCBs
APV25 • All components are in firm in Neuchatel (Hybrid SA) that does the hybrid assembly • Hope to have hybrids end of January/ 1st week of Febr.
Installation in ATLAS • First visit in UX15 last Wednesday • Measured cable lengths (except for SW) – 25m from rack to PP • List of parts needed • HV and ethernet cables from USA15 to PP are already in place (S. Malyukov); we need to install the connectors • Gas from MPI Ar:CO2 rack in Sector 14 (Thanks) • Gas piping to MBT0 will be done by J. Godlewski et al. • Next visit tomorrow morning • Measure the SW cables length; agree on support and cable routing • Agree on installation dates
