Famous Landmarks! This is a temple in Greece, people go to temples to worship their G-ds. The god or goddesses was represented by a cult image— usually a seated or a standing statue— which occupied the central place in the temple. In the early days they would have been made of wood but, over the years, more permanent and costly materials were preferred— stone or cast bronze. The finest, such as the great statues of Zeus at Olympia or Athena from the Parthenon in Athens (both by the Athenian sculptor Phidias) were of chryselephantine, a combination of gold and ivory. The statue of Zeus was considered one of the Seven Wonders of the ancient world.
Greek Food!!!!! This is a traditional meal for Greeks. They eat this on special occasions. Olives are very special in Greece! Because Athenina gave them the gift of the olive tree, that’s why the city Athens is named after her. This is some Greek food! Yum Yum!

CURRENCY!! Greek people use Euros as English people use Pounds. Many more countries use Euros as well as Greece. 500 Euros is the most you can spend with a Greek bank note.

Some olive trees planted in the thirteenth century are still producing olives. .According to Greek mythology, Athena and Poseidon agreed that whoever gave the city the best gift would become guardian over the city. Though Poseidon gave the gift of water, Athena’s gift of an olive tree was deemed by the other gods to be more valuable. Greek alphabet
