Mansfield BID AGM update 2015/16

Congratulations to David Wilson and Sue Rogers on the birth of Sophia Nelson on 3rd November 2015. Our aims are to create a safe, clean, and promote town center. We provide ambassador patrols, crime prevention campaigns, waste removal, marketing initiatives, and rewarding visits. We also organize various events throughout the year.

Safe & Secure • 4368 – Ambassadors Patrol Hours • 122 –Radio Scheme Users • Facilitation of tasking meeting and town exclusion orders • Mansfield BID Business Crime Partnership includes both day and night-time economies • 2 – Rapid deployable CCTV Kits - 2 more on order. (£5.3k from CSP) • 1456 –Street Marshals Night Patrol Hours • Street Pastors • Crime Prevention Campaigns – Public and Businesses

Safe & Secure • Only Accredited BCP in Nottinghamshire • Only 2 in Region at Gold Standard • National Common Minimum Standard written by Mansfield BID • Roll out across county of our Business Crime Partnership (£40k income over 2 years) • Lead on successful Purple Flag Award • Now working with Ashfield CSP

  8. Cleansing & Maintenance • Over £90,000 saved collectively • Over 10 Tonnes of Cardboard removed a year • Dedicated Chewing gum removal • Snow & Graffiti Removal • Keep Britain Tidy Award • FREE PAT testing • Continued waste removal • Cleansing & Low level maintenance and decorating

Marketing • Town centre website - continues it’s success. • New Fibre Optic Provider June 2016 saving £5k. • 10 new sign ups a day. • ‘I Love Mansfield’ scheme to encourage civic pride with: • - 4,364 likes on the I Love Mansfield • - 8000 Members of the ‘I Love Mansfield’ ‘Privilege card • - Trent Barton Mango Bus cards – over 50,000 members • - Average of 1.3k people per week reached. • More Later…….. • Extensive media promotions through local newspapers / radio/ bus advertising / leaflet promotions

  11. Marketing • A dedicated press officer • ‘Down Town’ Town Centre Magazine - having over 10,000 copies produced and distributed to local residents and high footfall destinations. • “Rewarding Visits” negotiated with an Autumn start.

Appealing Mansfield • Annual extension to the fabulous Christmas lights to expand the lights through all of the town centre where ever possible • The installation of 150 Yearly hanging baskets and planters • Judges Award 2015 for International Clean up – Britain in Bloom • Silver Gilt BID Category – Britain in Bloom • Designing out crime in particular hotspot areas • Dressing town for major events.

Invest in Mansfield • FREE Wi-Fi for all visitors - on average 3000 IP requests an hour • Continuation of the Healthy High Street Campaign with support from Boots, M&S, Santander and Greggs. • Access to better rates for gas, electricity and insurance saving collectively over £70k to date • Granted £20,000 from NCC to conduct a scoping exercise to apply for a large NHL fund though unsuccessful will be re-submitted this year • £10k Heritage Lottery Funding for Town Mill Project. • Regular Free Workshops including Being an Employer/Director, First Aid Training, Retail window dressing, Accountancy and Public Relations. • Customer Service Awards
