  4. Did he actually whistle? Well... No one knows it for sure Had speech impairment as a result of bulbar polio Throat would tense up when speaking Till would whistle to get his muscle to relax

  7. … So the guys who killed Till was jailed… RIGHT? Well.. Sadly, no Bryant and Milam were acquitted by an all-white male jury after an hour’s deliberation at the end of a five-day trial in September 1955 Sold their story to the magazine Look for $2,000

  8. Aftermath? Protest the slaying of Emmett Till sponsored by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Brought back the Anti –lynching movement

  9. Aftermath cont. Ignited anti-lynching, and U.S. Civil Rights Movement Rosa Parks is quoted as having said that the murder of Till and the acquittal of Bryant and Milam was an impetus for her historic act of civil disobedience 100 days later Till's murder would live on as one of the last atrocities of the Jim Crow era
