DOE’s Site Sustainability Plan for BNL (GHG Reduction) • Install on-site renewable energy projects • Purchase renewable energy credits or carbon offsets as necessary • Temperature set-backs; more efficient office equipment • Long Island Solar Farm Project (32 MW PV array); install additional ~1 MW PV array for BNL • Solar powered traffic signals and parking lights; solar heating systems for B30 and B464 • Continue acquiring Alternative Fuel Vehicles: 20% CNG and 80% E85 for all acquisitions • Continue installing advanced meters for steam and standard meters for water • Cool roofs have been specified; R-30 has been specified • Continue to train more staff; update employee orientation programs to include sustainability • Research cost-effective SF6leak-detection devices • Improve infrastructure as funding permits • Use best management practices for water conservation
