What is it “YOURural Net”? • NRN social network for young farmers • Web community dedicated to the rural community • Membership is open: may enrol farmers, senior policymakers, academics and amateurs, young and old • It’s possible to express opinions, share experiences, ask questions and suggest solutions • Promotes the creation of a “Network” between different subjects International Conference"Youth in the countryside"

  3. What are the Goals? (1) • Identify the real needs of farmers, with particular attention to young people, to try to translate them into priorities and strategic objectives in the next Community planning • Try to guide rural development policies still being implemented but also and especially post 2013 International Conference"Youth in the countryside"

  4. What are the Goals? (2) • Offers to members/enrolled to have a place to do to specific questions and the answers are almost focused and decisive, thanks to the participation of the community to the territorial Managing Authority (MA) and experts on local programming • Facilitates more dissemination of know-how existing in Italy, fostering better communication among stakeholders and a more dynamic exchange of experiences and innovations International Conference"Youth in the countryside"

What are the opportunities? • A new way to stimulate discussion on some important issues especially for the next programming, an example CAP reform of 2020 • The ambition is to to create a channel of information faster in which young people can obtain all the necessary information on such opportunities available in terms of policy and funding International Conference"Youth in the countryside"

Five thematic working groups • Specific group for farm management: • "Opportunity - Business, Investments, Finance" • "Tradition, Innovation and Territory - quality, technology, environment and activities related to agriculture" • "Training - Workshops, Stage” • Specific group for the future: • "CAP 2020 - Young comparing opinions" • "Rural4youth - Rural is participation" International Conference"Youth in the countryside"

As a member can participate? • To enroll themselves in one or more focus groups • In the "post" can express opinions, provide information and / or documents and links of interest • ask specific questions using the system of "Question & Answer“ • Can use “blog” to tell their "story" International Conference"Youth in the countryside"

Some statistics…. • About 500 members in 4 months • These pages has had 32,192 views • 5,462 visits • In the last month, YouRuralNet has had an average of 50 visits per day (equal to 5% pages/visit) • How to access the site: directly, by the Italian Rural Network and OIGA sites; the search engine is google International Conference"Youth in the countryside"

With YouRural Net ISMEA and NRN want to develop a real-user participation focused on the needs of young farmers compared to rural development policies and to the dynamics on the world of agriculture • Start the process “virtuosos” of "collective intelligence" to orient public policies towards the real needs of the territories International Conference"Youth in the countryside"
