  3. Gears • Gears are used in most machines and can help produce different movements that are used to control the speed of action.

  4. Levers • A lever is something that applies force or transfers it.

  5. Pulleys • Pulleys work in a similar way to gears except they are not joined together, but are linked by either elastic bands, tubular springs or some other flexible but strong material like a belt.
