Praxis I • Pre-Professional Skills Tests (PPST®) • Designed to measure basic skills in reading, writing and mathematics. • Formats: paper-based or computer-based • Uses: to evaluate individuals for entry into teacher education programs. • Scores: based on the number of questions you answer correctly, with no penalty incurred or subtraction for answering a question incorrectly. Praxis II • Subject Assessments • specific subjects for K-12 educators and general and subject-specific teaching skills and knowledge. • Formats: • Subject Assessments • general and subject-specific teaching skills and knowledge • Principles of Learning and Teaching (PLT) Tests • general pedagogical knowledge at four grade levels: Early Childhood, K-6, 5-9 and 7-12 • Teaching Foundations Tests • measure pedagogy in five areas: multi-subject (elementary), English, Language Arts, Mathematics, Science and Social Science Dr. H. Registration • Computer-based test: • made by appointment at over 300 Prometric test sites (http://etsis4.ets.org/tcenter/cbt_dm.cfm) throughout the United States. • Paper-based test: • Register online • Monday – Friday, 7 a.m. – 10 p.m. (EST) and Saturday, 7 a.m. through Sunday, 8 p.m. (EST) • pay by credit card or debit card • Registration for disability and persons whose primary language is not English (PLNE) cannot register online.
