Bell Work… When you sit down: • With a pen, write your first and last name on a popsicle stick • Write your first and last name on the tab of a manila folder • Write your name and contact information on the post-it note, including: • How you get home at the end of the day—bus, walker, pick-up • Parent/guardian’s name(s) and primary phone number • Parent/guardian’s e-mail address if you know it • Stick the filled out Post-it inside the manila folder • When you are done, make 2 piles in the middle of your table—one with the popsicle sticks, one with the manila folders (This should be done silently )

I know each and every one of you are intelligent, and I want to make certain you get the most that you possibly can out of what we learn in class. • That being said: • You should ask questions during CLASS when we have time to work on assignments or make arrangements to come in during RECESS or BEFORE/AFTER SCHOOL. • You should not wait until an assignment is DUE to ask for help. **Let’s make this a fabulous year!!!** ‘
At the End of the Class Period… • I will give you a little bit of time to write your homework in your agenda and clean up your area. I will not dismiss your table until I see that the area around you is clean—and that includes the tables! Please do not disrespect my things, as I will never do to yours • ALWAYS push your chairs under when dismissed!

About me Sentence Frames: • Hello! My name is Ms. Larson. I’m from Duluth, Georgia. One thing about me in terms of learning and growing is, communication from my students is the key to my success as a teacher. The thing I am most excited about this year is getting to see each of my students learn and grow in many ways as much as possible in order to get prepared for high school! Oh, and of course getting to use the new science lab starting in January!
Passes: • You need to ask Ms. Larson for permission to use the bathroom pass & you must sign out– Only ONE person out at a time! • In the back of your agenda, you will notice the hall pass sign out—that is what will be used if you are to go anywhere else • You also must ask if you need to borrow a pencil/scissors/colored pencils or markers/paper.
Absent/Late Work • You will have 1days for each day you were absent to make up the work assigned while you were gone(I keep tabs in my agenda of who is absent each day) • Any work that was due the day you were absent is due when you RETURN TO CLASS. • There is a calendar at the front of the room that will include what we did and the assignment that goes along with it—But you have to remind me to keep it current! I LOVE to give PAW passes for things like that! • All the late work will be in the back of the room—it is your responsibility to pick it up before or after class. • If you need to borrow my INB to make up notes, you must come in BEFORE or AFTER school or during RECESS to get caught up
What happens if I leave an assignment at home, or just don’t do it at all? • You will earn a ZERO on that assignment
Grading Scale • A= 90-100 • B= 80-89 • C= 70-79 • D= 60-69 • F = Below 59
How are grades calculated? • Everything is based on POINTS Quarter 1: • Quizzes=40% • Projects=10% • Labs/Demonstrations=15% • Homework=10% • Assignments (bellwork/INB/participation)=25%
