  1. BelAmI JT6: Assisted Living and Working Joint Workshop Budapest, April 28./29. Lóránt Vajda

  2. Project Mission: Challenge • New in BelAmI as JT (since last spring Budapest WS) • This workpackage is involved in the EMERGE EU project • Main challenge is an interworking AAL Lab concept • Goal: • HAVE A COMMON AAL Lab CONCEPTto enable • bilateral cooperation, and • exchange of results (solutions, data)

  3. Project Mission: Approaches • HAVE A COMMON AAL Lab CONCEPT • What does this mean? • To have AAL Labs in both sides • Can access the measured data from both sides (use the measurements/situations of each other to improve system performance) • Can record/replay the situations from the labs • Can use the data for reasoning from both sides • Can provide same services in both sides • Can have same system architecture • Use same data transferring/representation methods (use of Fact structure) • Use software parts of each other and not start to develop from the beginning

  4. Current Activities • Define the common Lab Concept including: • The AAL Lab Goals and Usage Scenarios (Target group, Requirements, What is shown, Issues) • AAL Services (Emergency, Autonomy, Safety&Security, Comfort) • AAL Devices (PIR, Epilepsy, Vital, Movement, etc.) • The AAL Lab overall architecture • The AAL Lab software architecture • Exchange and integrate solutions • Platform, ContextManager, Aggregators, Recorder, 3DVisu (Fraunhofer-IESE) • Platform, Device Integration Concept (HAL) (BAY-IKTI)

  5. Emergency Treatment Services Autonomy Enhancement Services Safety and Security Services Comfort Services Comfort Services Indoor Assistance Prediction Detection Prevention Drinking Eating Cleaning Cooking Dressing Medication Intruder/Movement detection Door lock Video recording Warning call Logistic services Services for finding things Infotainment services Logistic services Services for finding things Infotainment services Outdoor Assistance Prediction Detection Prevention Shopping assistance Travel assistance Banking assistance Finding lost persons Transportation services Orientation services Transportation services Orientation services Safety and Security Services Intruder/Movement detection Door lock Video recording Warning call Finding lost persons Current Services • Emergency treatment servicesaims the early prediction of emergecy situations and recovery from critical conditions • Autonomy enhancement services enable assisted persons to continue living independently. • Safety and security can be easily provided if several activity and monitoring sensors are present. • Comfort services cover all areas that do not fall into categories (1.), (2.) and (3.) above.

  6. AAL Labs (1): Kaiserslautern • Services: • Activity • Personal emergency • Bed monitoring • Environmental monitoring • Record/replay situations • etc. • Devices: • Service Hub, Artos • VideoTelephony, UCD • Particles, Batsy, Adhoco, Adhoc, Ubisense, Emfit, etc.

  7. AAL Labs (2): Budapest • Services: • Activity • Personal emergency • Bed monitoring • Environmental monitoring • Record/replay situations • etc. • Sensors: • Batsy, Adhoco, Particle, X10, Tunstall (under discussion)

  8. Sensors at the partners AAL Lab Kaiserslautern AAL Lab Budapest

  9. Major Results • A common agreement on different parts of AAL Labs • Device Integration Concept (HAL) • Exchange of components: • Batsy, Drivers (Adhoco, MicaZ, Particles, Batsy) • Platform, ContextManager, Aggregators, Recorder, 3DVisu, UCD • Cooperation in EMERGE • Joint presentation in ITEA2 Berlin

  10. Future Topics • Refine the Fact Meta Model • Standardized Data Representation • Several parts have to be developed/enhanced • e.g. Context Manager, automated sensor discovery, UI, measuring environment •  Further student exchanges • Define parts to develop in both sides in parallel • AAL-JP - “ICT based solutions for Prevention and Management of Chronic Conditions of Elderly People“ • Management of chronical illnesses, social interaction • Deadline: 21st Aug. 2008. • Time period: 12-36 months • Max: 3M EUR • eHealthCare everywhere (Home, Car, Outdoor) • Joint publication plan on AAL Laboratory concept
