5. Why HACU? • The U.S. Census Bureau indicates that Hispanics are the nation’s largest minority population at 12.5%. • Hispanics historically have suffered the highest rate of high school dropouts. • Only 10 percent of Hispanics have completed four or more years of college. • However, the Hispanic college-age population grew by nearly 40 percent from the mid-1980's to the mid-1990's. • Source: American Council on Education Minorities in Higher Education, Fifteenth Annual Status Report 1996-97.

AN-MSIVision AN-MSI is the premier collaborative initiative for minority serving institutions and their communities to create solutions that ensure they are leaders and full participants in the Information Age. This is accomplished through the effective use of networking and emerging technologies in teaching and learning, research, administration, and service.
