Syphilis-Stage One In the first stage a chancre can be seen. It is a painless sore that show that the first stage started. It lasts from 3-6 weeks. Without treatment the disease will continue on to the second stage.
Syphilis- Stage Two & Three Rashes, headaches, and nausea can occur in the second stage. The rash is doesn’t itch and shows when the second stage may have started. In the third stage the disease would still be untreated and if not treated lead up to the last stage of Syphilis. There is no sign of the disease for many years. It can last from 10-20 years.
Syphilis Stage Four In the last stage of Syphilis internal organs can be damaged. Some symptoms of this last stage are blindness, numbness, and paralysis. All of these can lead up to death.
HPV HPV is the most common STI. It can infect the genital area, mouth, and throat. Many people who have HPV do not know that they have it. Problems with having HPV is that it can cause cervical cancer for females. It can also cause genital warts.
Herpes A sign of Herpes is a blister on the genitals. The blisters bursts and will become a sore. It is spread through the sores. Herpes can be very painful and cause infections for babies. Herpes can be prevented by staying away from sexual contact.
Pubic Lice Pubic lice are usually found in the pubic area, but can be also found at the eyebrows, eyelashes. Beard, mustache, chest, and armpits. Pubic lice are spread through person to person contact. It does not transmit diseases.
Gonorrhea Gonorrhea is caused by Neisseria gonorrhea. A bacteria that easily grows and multiply in warm and moist areas. Gonorrhea is spread through the contact of the penis, vagina, mouth, or anus. For women Gonorrhea can lead up to PID (Pelvic Inflammatory Disease). For men symptoms can be swollen testicles. Laboratory tests can diagnose Gonorrhea. Gonorrhea is treated with anti-biotics, but drug resistant strains of it are becoming more common making it harder to cure it.
NGU NGU also known as Non-gonococcalurethritis is the inflammation of the urethra. NGU can be spread through sexual contact. Some symptoms for males are discharge or burning/pain when urinating. Some symptoms for females are discharge, burning/pain when urinating, and abdominal pain.
PID PID is the infection of the uterus, fallopian tubes, and other reproductive organs. PID can lead to infertility and ectopic pregnancy. Women get PID when bacteria move up from the vagina or cervix into the reproductive organs. Many cases of PID are associated with Chlamydia and gonorrhea. PID can cause permanent damage to reproductive organs. PID can be cured with several antibiotics.
