Come get a file from the table and write your name (last name, first) on a little paper and put it in the tab. Or, find your name from last year • On a piece of paper, answer the following (if you need paper, come ask me for it) • If this school year was a play, what would be your super objective (goal) for your character? • Brainstorm Broadway songs that you think will fit you • Put paper in your file. Place file in your class’s crate in alphabetical order by last name. • Do you have your signed syllabus? If so, turn it in. The “turn in” spot is in the student corner. Look for the tray with your class period.

Basic audition tips • Know when, where, what time, and what is expected • Prepare your song/monologue-showcases you! • Do not prepare song or monologue from the show-unless specified by director • Have your music-what this means • Resume and headshot –what this means • Dress to move, but look your best
How to Choose a “Go to” Song for Audition • In your vocal range • In your age/demographic range • Showcases your personality • Has variety • Be careful of choosing something overdone!!! (if the musical is super popular, DO NOT choose a song from it)
