  4. VOCAB ALERT FACTORS – Numbers multiplied together to find a product. VOCAB ALERT PRODUCT – the answer to a multiplication problem. Setup the problem. Aligning the factors is key! Place a 0 in the 1’s column! Remember to align each place value column. Always start in the 1’s column. Now, we are done with the 1’s column. Before we multiply by 10’s. What must happen? 10 5 0 8 4 0 0 Now, multiply by 10’s. 9450 Once we have multiplied by 1’s and then 10’s, we must ADD the 2 partial products to find the product. TAG your answer statement.
