Importing Audio • Audio files added by drag and drop will reference the original file. • The audio file will be copied and converted only if: • File doesn’t reside on a valid performance volume • Sample rate or bid depth don’t match • File is compressed • File is multi-channel interleaved • Automatically copy files on import is enabled.
REX Files • Propellerhead Software - ReCycle • Contain audio and metadata • The audio contains regions so that when they’re placed on tick based audio tracks, they match up to the tempo • Metadata is tempo information • The file can be converted into region groups.
ACID Files • Sony ACID software • Contain audio and metadata • Metadata: tempo, length (bars), pitch, and slice information. • Converted to the sessions audio file type on import. • ACID files can be sample or tick-based regions.
