  2. THE MYRTLE (Myrtus communis) It has a reddish bark in the young branches, grayish in the old ones. The flowers are fragrant, white or pink. It has aromatic, medicinal, balmy and anti-inflammatory proprieties.

  3. THE ROSEMARY (Rosmarinus officinalis) It’s a shrub, it sprouts spontaneously in the Mediterranean area, on the coast. It’s between 50 and 300 cm, the leaves are green and they’re concentrated along the branches. It can be used as an aromatic, ornamental or medicinal plant.

  4. THE ARBUSTUS (Arbutus unedo) It’s a bush or a little tree. It’s an evergreen shrub, with young reddish branches. The leaves are jagged. The fruits are edible and they’re also used to make jams. The plant is used in parks and gardens.

  5. THE BAY (Laurus nobilis) It’s an aromatic plant, widespred in the Mediterranean scrub. The trunk is erect, the bark is blackish-green, the leaves are dark green and very fragrant. It can be used as a spice , to flavor meat and fish; as a home remedy to move away the moths from the closet; to prepare digestive decoctions, or to make liqueurs.

  6. THE BROOM (Cystius scoparius) It’s mainly a bush-shrub. The natural fibre can be used for textile, cosmetic and medicinal products, for the heavy metal depuration and for other industrial applications.

  7. THE OLEANDER (Nerium oleander) It’s an evergreen shrub. It has little branched trunks, very big and flashy flowers. It’s one of the most toxic plants, in fact it’s dangerous for every kind of animal.
