The Sixth Commandment • The command: You shall not murder. • The verb: ratsach ( jxr) – man slaying • Sometimes premeditated killing (murder) • Other times accidental killing (manslaughter) – Num. 35:11 • In general, improper or unauthorized killing (except Num. 35:27) • Only killing of humans by humans (except Prov. 22:13) • God is the giver of life; He is the only one who can take it
