8. SHORTAGES IN THE VA The lack of provider appointments Is the single largest barrier to timely care. VA doctor shortages combined with a rising veteran population lead to waiting times that can be months or years!

9. TRUST The VA has the ability to deem a veteran “mentally incompetent” to handle monetary benefits This could result in the appointment of a trustee to handle their affairs Who wants that!

In partnership with the California State Bar Association Troy founded the first online substance abuse treatment program, offering immediate treatment for veterans and their dependents free of charge. Avery Director • Dr. Avery is the Executive Pastor at the New Life Christian Center • Key strengths include: leadership, strategic development, team building and teaching. • Brett received a B.S., Youth Ministries from Toccoa Falls College, an M.A. in Christian Education from Columbia International University, and an E.D in Leadership from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Stacie Boesch Director of Education • Stacie Boesch has been a professional educator and teacher for 30 years. • Involved with agriculture management in her family business – almond farming – • Stacie received a B.S. degree in Elementary Education from the University of Utah, an Med in Education Administration from Chapman University, and an M.A., Reading and Literary Leadership Specialist, from Fresno State University. Additionally, she has a Language Development Specialist Credential. Barbara Meinert Director • Barbara Meinert is president of Country Squire Investments. • She is a Commercial Real Estate developer, Philanthropist, and part of a nearly 100-year-old family farming concern in the San Joaquin Valley. • Barbara is skilled in budgeting, management, customer service, sales, and strategic planning. • She is a strong business development professional with a B.A. degree (focused in Business Administration and Management, General) from California State University, Fresno, Menlo College

HomeBase Treatment Sherry Whitmore Director • Sherry Whitmore has 15 plus years of experience as a principal/operator/worker in multiple substance abuse treatment centers including residential, detox, and outpatient facilities. • Sherry received her Bachelor of Science, Business Management from the University of Phoenix, Gardena, California. Sydney M. Treat, IV Director • Sydney Treat has been involved in the Alcohol and Drug Abuse sector for more than 30 years.
