What is a Leader? • A person who uses an art or process developed to influence followers to accomplish the goals of the group • A person who uses personal relationships as the vehicle of influence, with the caveat being personal growth or improvement in both the leader and follower as a result of that relationship.
What is a Leader? • A leader leads by example. • A leader shows proficiency in creating relationships which facilitate the growth of followers as separate persons. • A leader strives to unify ones skills of improvement and proactivity.
The Problem • Decreased youth membership • Decreased adult involvement
The Solutions • Increased volume of socially focused events. • Taking advantage of the population of Senior DeMolay’s in State. • Redefining the current advisor structure, so as to fully utilize them.
What Is Leadership? • Leaders aren’t born they’re made. • Good communication is vital to any group larger than two. • Youth groups must have adult buy in, support the activities of the youth. • DeMolay sells constructive fun, so have fun, boost membership, and get their parents.
What Now? • Why is the rate of adult volunteers decreasing? • Why aren’t Senior DeMolay’s coming back into the fold? • What other techniques are employed by other non-profits to attract volunteers?
