  7. The SACTCC was supported by the Hon. Minister Jeff Radebe of Ministry of Transport and Tourism, Republic of South Africa(RSA) and H.E. Ambassador Liu Guijin from PR China to RSA and opened in July 2004. It has been based in Pretoria, South Africa. Last decade, SACTCC had promoted the technology exchange and co-operation at Transport and Tourism field and made progress.

  8. It hosted and co-sponsored the Forum and international conferences between the Southern Africa and China annually. The number of specific projects and training programs on Transport and Tourism technology have been implemented in South Africa, Mozambique and China. More than 20 scholarships and fellowships between Southern Africa and China have been achieved. Currently there are more than 10 specialists on Transport and Tourism and higher education at SACTCC.

This SACTCC has assisted the officers of the Ministry of Transport and Tourism and Communications, Mozambique to visit China and South Africa last few years for visiting, the conferences and training programs, such as Ms Ana Fernanda Nhampango, Advisor to the Minister of MTC, Mr. Emanuel Chaves, Chairman of ADM(Airport Authority of Mozambique), Dr.NicolauSululo, Counsellor of High Commission of Mozambique to RSA(Republic of South Africa), etc. The one branch office will be sought to be established in Maputo soon.

  10. 2). The Reasons for Co-Establishing the China-Africa Transport Strategy Research Institute(CATSRI)主要工作目标

  11. The Johannesburg Summit and the 6th Ministerial Conference of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) were held in Johannesburg from 3 to 5 December 2015. Heads of State and Government, Heads of Delegation, the Chairperson of the African Union (AU) Commission and Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Ministers in charge of economic cooperation from China and 50 African countries attended the Summit and Ministerial Conference respectively.

  12. AU and Chinese government announced that the FOCAC agree that underdeveloped infrastructure is one of the bottlenecks hindering independent and sustainable development of Africa. The two sides will take concrete measures and give priority to encourage Chinese businesses and financial institutions to expand investment through various means, such as Public-Private Partnership (PPP) and Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT), to support African countries and the African flagship projects, in particular the Programme for Infrastructure Development in Africa and the Presidential Infrastructure Championing Initiative, in their efforts to build railroad, highway, regional aviation, ports, electricity, water supply, information and communication and other infrastructure projects, support African countries in establishing 5 transportation universities and facilitate infrastructure connectivity and economic integration in Africa.

  15. H. E. Minister of Transport and H.E. Minister of Higher Education and Training will steer the processing. Chinese Organizations will work with the above two ministries for the establishing.
