  3. Accomplishments • Creator/Founder of Save the Children India • non-governmental organization that has been working for the empowerment of disadvantaged women and children since 1988. In addition, since 2000, we have also concentrated on the combating and preventing trafficking of children from the rural areas.

  4. Founder of WISE, Women’s Institute for Social Education • Founder of PRIDE India, Planning Rural-Urban Integrated Development through education • Director of Rural Hospital "SPARSH" at Sastur, Osmanabad district - where a devastating earthquake took place in 1993

  5. Rescued and rehabilitated young victims of sexual exploitation in India & Nepal • Works on Aids Awareness throughout India • She is a member of Maharashtra State Social Welfare Board.

Awards • Distinguished Leadership Award for outstanding professional and Community Leadership in 1990 by the American Biographical Institute, Inc. • Mahila Shiromani Award - 1990 awarded by the Shiromani Institute, New Delhi • Award for the furtherance of Communal Harmony • "Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Award 97" (Indian National Congress)
