Welcome back! • Warm-Up… • Copy down the chart & fillin the number of sides: • Quickwrite… • On a scale of 1 to 5 (5 = Very Good, 1= Very Bad), how would you rate your weekend? Why? • “On a scale of 1 to 5, I would rate my weekend a ___ because ___________________________________.”
Compare & explain… • starting with Student #2 (1 min)
Round robin… • starting with the student who woke up the earliest this morning (1 min) • On a scale of 1 to 5 (5 = Very Good, 1 = Very Bad), how would you rate your weekend? Why? • “On a scale of 1 to 5, I would rate my weekend a ___ because ___________________________________.”
What is a polygon? • A polygon is a closed plane figure with three or more sides • Each side intersects exactly two sides at the vertex • We can name a polygon by listing the vertices in consecutive order • The number of sides determines the name of a polygon
Convex vs. concave polygons • Convex polygons have NO lines that go through the interior • Concave polygons are the opposite • Convex or concave? • Concave Convex
How do we find the perimeter? • In the coordinate plane we can use the Distance Formula
