What is the CIHC? • Since 2006, the CIHC has operated as a Health Canada Contribution Agreement. • The CIHC’s goal is to be an innovative, interactive, and permanent hub for interprofessional activity. • The CIHC works with education and health policy makers as well as practitioners, students and researchers to build a more patient-centred approach to healthcare delivery. • The CIHC is made up of health organizations, health educators, researchers, students and health providers primarily from Canada, but also all over the world

  3. Why is the CIHC Important to Canadian Healthcare? Evidence shows that interprofessional education and collaborative patient-centred practice can positively impact not only the health system but the patient experience as well. The CIHC has identified interprofessional education and collaborative patient-centred practice as an important strategy for strengthening the health system worldwide. The CIHC strives to transform healthcare and improve patient outcomes.

  7. The CIHC is in its final year under the Health Canada Contribution Agreement, which ends on March 31, 2012. The CIHC will incorporate as a not for profit society by the fall of 2011 and will continue to support interprofessional education and collaborative patient centred practice beyond the end of the Contribution Agreement.
