Also, please get out your binders as I will be going around and giving points.   2. Behind each divider for your classes (in this order) • Divider (with label of class including AVID) • Current Cornell Notes/Learning Logs • Handouts • Tests • Older notes/learning logs • Syllabi • Blank paper**newest on top, oldest towards the bottom**

Tutorial Process • There are 3 Initial steps to the entire Tutorial Process: 1) Taking/Reviewing Cornell Notes from your academic classes 2) The night before the tutorial, identify a class in which you are struggling. Complete the Tutorial Request Form (TRF) 3) Teacher/Tutor checks the TRF and you are placed in the appropriate academic tutorial group.

  7. Your turn to present! • 1. Write the problem on the board. • 2. Face the group members. • 3. Read the question out loud to the group. • 4. Explain prior knowledge and what you understand about the question. • 5. Explain what strategies you used in attempting to answer the question. • 6. Indicate to the group exactly where you became confused as you worked to answer this question. • 7. Ask group members: “What questions do you have to prompt my thinking and assist me in identifying • the next step?” • 8. Ask group members questions to clarify anything that they asked or stated.
