THE ROMAN ARMY The Roman army was made up of groups of soldiers called legions. The Roman army was divided into legions of about 5,000 men.
JULIUS CAESER • Julius Caesar was born on July 13 100 B.C. He was a great soldier and general. He helped to take over new land for the Roman Empire.
CLOTHES • Men wore a knee-length tunic (chilton) • Women wore a longer tunic which was often ankle-length. Over this the women wore a stola which was a full length from neck to ankle, high- waisted and fastened at the shoulders with clasps.
ROMAN GODS • The most important gods to the Romans were the Greek gods from Mount Olympus. The Greek gods were given Roman names, for example, Zeus became Jupiter.
