2. Biography • Montel Williams was born on July 3rd, in Baltimore, Maryland. Montel was raised by his mother, Marjorie Williams, and his father, Herman Williams. Montel has three siblings, two sisters and a brother, Clolita, Marjorie, and Herman. • While Montel was growing up, he went to school at a place called Andover High School. Once out of high school, Montel went to the U.S navy base. Montel was in the navy from 1974 to 1988. • After Montel got out of the Marines, Montel started a Entertainment show called The Montel Williams Show. Montel’s show was kind of like Dr. Phil, he would have certain people or families on his show to work out there problems on T.V.

3. Biography • Montel Williams On April 6, 2009, Williams began hosting a daily radio show, Montel Across America. On January 21, 2010, Air America stopped broadcasting, leaving Montel without anything to do the show with. • In May 2009, he started hosting an infomercial for the Living Well Health master, a blender made product. It is presented under the title Living Well with Montel; the infomercial is really close and similar to his old talk show, featuring guests talking about their health problems, and the Health Master was the result and solution. In November 2009, Montel began appearing in television commercials for Money Mutual, and an online payday advance lender.

4. Accomplishments • Montel Williams has won many accomplishments in his career. During the Montel Williams Show, he won two genesis awards, and was nominated for more than 5 daytime Emmy awards. He was also nominated in time for a GLAAD award. • Montel has been in many different stages. He is a talk show host, an author of many books, and an actor. • Montel was in movies War, Inc,American Candidate,Noon Blue Apples,and Touched by an Angle: Into The Fire. He also was in The Peacekeeper,A Different World: Baby it’s Cold Outside, and last but not least, The Montel Williams Show.

Organizations • Montel Williams belongs to the MS foundation and the PPA foundation, as well as working on his own show. • Montel Williams has worked with many charities such as, St. Francis Food Pantries and Shelters, Montel Williams MS Foundation, and Ante Up For Africa. • Montel also has done a Car charity in the spring. • In the beginning in Montel’s career, he was interested in little tabloid talk shows, but as time led on he was into more interesting subjects like lost loves, reuniting mothers who have their children up for adoption, and stories about women that has faced certain danger such as rape or abuse, and had lived through it. • On August 2007, The Montel Williams Show was awarded The Truly Terrible Television (TTTV) Award for adding a little extra every episode.

6. Organizations • After 17 years on doing the show, “The Montel Williams Show” is preparing for its end. Barring a ending by distributor CBS Television Distribution, Montel would be leaving all shows following that season. • Once the season was over, CBS would produce almost 260 shows on video for all to watch in memory. • In an interview that they had almost a year before, Montel had mentioned that he had wanted to go into full acting for the rest of his career. • Williams has also guest-starred in episodic television and other plays that weren’t on Broadway. On his other roles, he portrayed a Navy Seal lieutenant in three episodes of the television series Jag. He also produced and starred in a short-lived television series called Matt Waters, which was on CBS in 1996. He played an ex-Navy Seal High School Teacher.In 1997, he played Lt. Colonel Northrop a Nuclear Silo commander in the movie The Peacekeeper. • Montel played on one episode of All My Children in 2002. In 2003 he made a guest appearance on the soap as himself, to promote an episode of his own show on which several AMC stars were scheduled to appear. But in 2004, he hosted other shows.

9. Montel Williams • I think that Montel realizes peoples mistakes and there problems because of the show he had. He would have people come in and work out there problems no matter what they were and knowing how certain people work I think helps him write in a certain way. I think he understands people in a way that no one else can because he has worked with people so long. Now that he had his own show, he has advice for everyone that he can just right down and put in books for anyone and everyone around the world to see.
