Mission of the movement: • To relieve and prevent the suffering of the people and communities • How can Organizational Learning initiative can contribute to achieve our mission? • The purpose of the organizational learning challenge is: • To contribute to the analysis of how national societies learn organizationally • To engage national societies in the challenge • To define to lines of action Volunteer Alliance: Organizational Learning Technical Team
Background: • In Nairobi a survey related to Organizational Learning was applied among the participants in the Alliance Meeting, in order to introduce the topic of organizational learning. • The survey contains the categories such As: “How people learn in their SN”; “How People related with other people (regarding learning)”; “How their NS gather and process the information and share among their members”. • In general, the results shown that are opportunities to learn from the way that people, decision makers and the Organization (in general) need to improve to learn together in such topics. • An invitation was sent to national societies to join the challenge • Documents related to strategies of knowledge and learning, management expertise and theoretical livelihoods on organizational learning; where exchanged in order to obtain feedback from experts in the field and from the members of the Alliance. Organizational learning pursues • To change the way we perceive the actual organization in order to gather and process necessary information; in order be competitive and innovative • To generate knowledge a culture that allows us to improve the way we manage the knowledge. • To realize that knowledge are not Data and Information • In order to know thing like… • Do we know that we must to know? • We do things that make sense to us? • Can we rely in the links used to Exchange learning? • If other cultural factors, strategic, political, etc. has influence on the quality of the links to gather learning. • The Federation should investigate If is being able to understand each part of the Organization and build the links among the parties that should work together.
