  1. Filamentality is a template WEB search tool for searching the Internet. It lets you gather good Internet links and turns them into online learning activities. You'll create a web-based activity that lets your students search the WEB under your specific search guidelines. Filamentality

  2. Hotlists • A hot list is a website with links to a specific subject and corresponding subcategories picked by the teacher. Students are kept from searching aimlessly by having a list of links that provide them with the information they are looking for.

  3. Multimedia Scrapbooks • Similar to a hotlist but websites are categorized by media type such as video, sound clips, photographs, clipart, maps, etc.

  4. Treasure Hunt • Treasure Hunts collect specific information about a subject. They target knowledge to answer questions specified by teacher. Thus students need to understand the information being read to answer the questions. Reading comprehension is necessary and practiced with this hunt.

  5. WebQuests A WebQuest presents students with a challenging problem to solve. Students begin by researching background knowledge. Then they divide into groups and assume various roles that relate to the problem at hand. Each student or group of students has a particular role or taskto complete. Students compile their tasks into one complete project.
