  1. Family Guy Charlie Borthwick, Bethany Billingsley

  2. Introduction • Seth MacFarlane is the creator of ‘Family Guy.’ He also plays the role of Peter Griffin, the father of the Griffin Family. Seth McFarlane has also played in many other movies such as ‘Ted’ where he became the main feature playing the voice of Ted. • The first ever episode aired on January 31st1999on FOX. • The total viewing figures for family guy were1.48 million on the 13th of October 2013. • Chad Katona works as a compositor supervisor in visual effects.

Primary Research • For our primary research we created a tally chart and asked the people in our group to answer the following questions: • Gender? • Age? • Do you like Family Guy? • What would you rate the show, on a scale of 1-10? • Who’s your favourite character?We used primary research to get this information as it was research we found out ourselves, by making people fill in a tally chart, we then made their answers into percentages which was quantitive data. • We found out that 88% of people like Family Guy and 12% of people do not like Family Guy. • The sample of people we used were college students aged 16 to 20,  38% of the people asked were 16 years of age. 69% of which were male, and 31% of which were female.

Secondary research • We used this BARB to find out the total viewing figures for Family Guy. • http://www.barb.co.uk/ • BARB stands for’Broadcasters’ Audience Research Board’ BARB was set up in 1981 to provide the industry standard television audience measurement service for broadcasters and the advertising industry. • We found out that the total viewing figures for family guy are 1.48 million on the 13th of October 2013. • Family Guy fist aired on FOX on January the 31st, 1999 (according tohttp://www.epguides.com/FamilyGuy/ and http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0182576/?ref_=nm_knf_t3). • The show first aired in the UK on the 12th November 2001. In the UK Family Guy first appeared on Channel 4, it then went onto Sky, then BBC 2, then finally onto its present home on BBC Three & FX.

  5. Typical viewer Age: 14 – 20 as Family Guy is not suitable for children under the age of 14. Class: middle class Gender: mainly males watch as the show has a very manly sense of humour. Sexuality: straight
