  2. For recovering deleted, lost files (photos, videos, contacts, messages, etc.) from your Android phones with Data Recovery software, you need connect your devices to the computer via USB. Sometimes the computer/software won’t recognize the phone. To be able to connect Android to PC/Mac, you may need to change the settings on your phone, install the correct drivers on your computer or install special software.

Here are some tips for you. 1.Enable USB Debugging on Your Android Devices Whenever you want to recover data from Android, you need to enable USB debugging mode in order to connect and communicate with the device. Below is how to enable USB debugging on different versions of Android:

  4. For Android 2.0 – 2.3 Navigate to “Settings” > “Applications” > “Development” and check “USB debugging”.

  5. For Android 3.0 – 4.1 Navigate to “Settings” and enable “Developer options”, then check “USB debugging” and click “OK”.

For Android 4.2 and higher 1)Go to “Settings”, scroll down to the bottom and tap “About phone” or “About tablet”. 2)Locate to the “Build number” field and tap it seven times to enable Developer options. When you are done, you’ll see the message “You are now a developer!” 3)Back to “Settings” and access the “Developer options” menu. Check “USB debugging” and click “OK” on the prompt.
