Outline • Globcover: • Updates of Pan-European applications, GBLI (green background landscape index): • PEEN • TEN-T • SEBI 2010 • Analysis of particular classes: temporary wetlands and grassland • Cross scales analysis: Globcover, CLC, High resolution soil sealing (link to CartoChange) • Mediterranean: • Support to the Observatory of Mediterranean Wetlands, v2 wetlands (short term) • Preparation of an ecosystem assessment for the Mediterranean region (with OMW, ETCLUSI, UNEP MAP Blue Plan and REC Tunis) 2008 onwards • Global: Potsdam initiative (“Stern-like” “value of biodiversity” report) – case study on wetlands (2008 onwards) • Future development of ecosystem accounting at the Global level • Meris composites: • Development of nowcasting procedures for CLC, frequent updates of land accounts • Analysis of urban patterns, compacity and change • Monitoring of temporary wetlands and wetlands variability (Globcover v2) • Cross-cutting analysis Land Cover x NPP, seasonal variations, anomalies
