Company logos A logo is a symbol that represents and identifies a company.
What attracts customers? • Obviously, the quality of the product does, but visual images contribute a great deal. • It is not only the image of the product provided that counts but the whole corporate identity of the company that owns the product.
What is brand identity, exactly? • A brand identity represents your company’s values, services, ideas and personality. Example: Coca Cola It has been selling its drink since 1886! http://www.memory.loc.gov/ammem/ccmphtml/colatime1.html
ACTIVITY • In your pairs, you will produce a logo & a brand identity for one of the following products: shampoo Sneakers Candy
With your partner pick an audience and a form for your advert: Target Audience Forms of advertising
Create a Brand Identity. On a separate sheet of paper respond to these questions on brand identity: • Values of your company • What does your company think is important? • What does your audience think is important? • Services provided by your product • What is your product good for? • Why does the audience need or desire your product? • Personality of your company • What makes your company aka brand memorable? • What will the audience think of when they think of your brand?
Create a Logo. It should: • Be easily connected to your product and brand identity. • Create the appropriate connotations to grab your audience’s attention and make them remember the product • Be professional in appearance. Take pride in your craftsmanship. A sloppy logo & brand = a sloppy company.
